This is an overview of the many different original and later LP pressings of the Flames' albums Burning Soul and Soulfire. In compiling this overview we are making the rather bold assumption that these two albums were always reissued in pairs. We welcome your contributions with information about missing versions! It would appear that those people in the record company responsible for reissuing these records were not too careful about making sure they were using the correct stereo tapes and/or matrices. It is nearly certain that the original master tapes for all this music are lost. That would explain why a true stereo Soulfire never reappeared after the first 1968 version. Tracks from Soulfire have consistently shown up in mono on various compilation records and cds.
